I cannot recommend Puente de Pilar highly enough. For a one star Hotel in the 20-40 euros a night price range they don’t come any better than this. The hostel is situated next to the estuary at the back of the beach and a short walk over the historic bridge brings you out on the broad sweep of the golden sands of Ribadesella. Attention to detail is everywhere to be seen at Puente de Pilar and everything is spotless and tastefully arranged in the way of a much more expensive hotel. The service is also impeccable and the food delicious with many organic choices. Whether you are passing through on the Camino de Santiago, visiting the prehistoric cave paintings of Tito Bustillo or looking to spend some down time on the fantastic beach at Ribadesella Puente de Pilar is easily the best choice you can make. Your charming host Fernando speaks English very well and is very happy to see visitors and is a mine of information about all the local attractions. Highly recommended!
